chocolate-covered corn chips

I know it's been a really long time since I've posted anything.  But, since I've posted last I got a new camera (it's awesome, but {clearly} still completely foreign to me) and prepared something that you need in your life:

Can we be friends again?

This is so simple, but so amazingly delicious.  It sounds crazy weird, I know.  But it works.  Think chocolate-covered pretzel.  Or chocolate-covered peanuts.  Sweet and salty were made for each other.

We first had these at Easter over my cousin's house.  They got some chocolate-covered corn chips from a local chocolate company.  They were pretty fancy.  This is the no-frills version.  They're half-coated (for easy preparation and devouring).

This week, from Fresh Fork we got some delicious, organic, local corn chips.  The only way to make them any better would be to add some chocolate.  You still don't believe me?  Come on over and try some yourself.  Or whip some up.  They literally take 4 minutes.  That might be easier.

There's not really even a recipe for this one.  You melt some chocolate (I put chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring once every 20 seconds until it was smooth), dip some corn chips into the chocolate, and carefully set it down on cookie sheet lined with a piece of parchment paper.  That's it.  And the last part is optional.  You can also just put it in your mouth.  I refrigerated mine a bit, so they'd harden well.

  1. This looked so interesting coming up on my feed I really had to buzz and click. But you are right, I can imagine it now, the combo of sweet and salty would be hugely morish. This dish made me smile lots. So thanks.

I'd love to hear from you!
