I love baking with my sister.  Today I got to bake with her since she is home  for the holidays.

Every year, my grandma, aunts, cousins, mom, sister and I make cookies for our family's Christmas Eve gathering.  It always ends up being an obscene amount of cookies, but we do it anyways.  I think at this point a ridiculous amount of cookies is a holiday tradition.  And you can't argue with tradition.  So, today we made snickerdoodles, one of our Christmas favorites.

My sister and I got to spend some girl time together this afternoon.  My dog really wanted to be part of the sister time as you can tell by his desperate look.  Or, at least he wanted to catch a stray crumb or two of these delicious cookies.

-1 c. butter
-1 1/2 c. sugar
-2 eggs
-2 3/4 c. flour
-2 tsp cream of tartar
-1 tsp baking soda
-1/4 tsp salt
-3 tbsp sugar
-3 tsp cinnamon

Mix butter, 1 1/2 c. sugar and eggs.  Blend flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.  Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and combine.  Shape into 1" balls.  In a small bowl, combine the 3 tbsp sugar with the cinnamon.  Roll the dough balls in the cinnamon sugar.  Place completed cookies about 2" apart on an ungreased baking sheet.  Bake at 400 degrees for about 8-10 minutes.
